One Can makes an impression at local estate agents

Manchester-based decorators, Heritage Decorators, have named One Can their ‘go-to exterior paint’ after using it on the shop exterior of a local estate agents in Sale, Manchester. The newly refurbished shop now creates a stellar first impression on the busy high street.

Find out why our water-based all-in-one primer and finish was the ideal product to give long-lasting protection to bare and painted timber in this exterior project…

Heritage Decorators recently painted a new shopfront for local estate agents ‘Ashworth Holme’, located on a busy high street in the town of Sale. The building dates from 1921, and was refurbished with new signage, windows and entranceway prior to painting the shopfront.

Olive Brigham-Bowes from Heritage Decorators originally planned on using a traditional combination of solvent-based paints and primers. He writes: “We specified the job with an old-school approach in mind, using aluminium primer and oil-based primer/undercoats alongside oil-based external topcoats.”

However, plans began to change after consulting their local decorators’ merchants. With winter approaching, they pointed out that fast drying times and speed of completion should be a key consideration for this exterior project.

Due to the slow drying times of oil-based paints, a traditional method using separate primers and paints would result in a lengthy decorating process. Whereas an all-in-one, water-based product like Bradite One Can would be ideal. It offers a speedy drying time of just 30 minutes and provides excellent durability, without the need for a separate primer.

Oliver writes: “They recommended Bradite One Can due to its high adhesion and tannin blocking capabilities, as well as being available in multiple colours and finishes.”

With One Can, recoats are possible after just 1 hour and no primer coat is required. This means that exterior projects such as this one can be completed in less than one day.

He continues: “I have always been hesitant to use a paint that says it does everything. But even after one coat, I could tell there was something different about the science behind this all-in-one product. Not only did it key to bare and pre-painted timber, cover extremely well and dry quickly, but it also left a finish that the customer was overjoyed with. Bradite One Can delivered beyond our expectations, helping us to achieve a great finish with ease. We will now be using it as our go-to external paint!”
